A dog known as “Black Mama” helps its owner to earn NT$500 per year, which is equivalent to $17,000. What does Black Mama do to earn extra income for its owner?

Black Mama is a female dog raised up by plumber Hong Zhaoqin from Chiayi County, Taiwan. The dog is particularly sensitive to the smell of voles. When it smells voles, it will definitely catch it and the owner will sell the big fat voles. The owner claimed that the income from selling voles is more than his full time job.

Hong Zhaoqin taught the dog to catch voles by letting it to smell the mouse. Hong also said that the most yielding area is sugar cane field, which Black Mama can catch up to 10 thousand in three to four months time. The dog is truly a Fortune Dog.

A woman bought a Chihuahua from a Kaohsiung pet shop. The shopkeeper told her that the dog was only one year old. When she brought the Chihuahua home, she found found that it was walking in a strange way. After examined by the vet, it was discovered that the dog had hernia due to excessive reproduction, and it was already seven years old. Spending so much money to buy an old dog angered the woman.

The black Chihuahua that walked awkwardly was named Dan Dan. Mrs Chen said that she believed the pet shopkeeper claimed that Dan Dan was only one year old, so she bought it for NT$6000. It was only discovered its age after sending for examination. Mrs Chen said that as the dog had hernia, so she sent it to animal veterinary hospital. The vet diagnosed that the dog was more than seven years old, and it was a breeding Chihuahua. It was suspected that hernia was caused by excessive giving births, and surgery was required to heal the dog. Dan Dan was not as active as normal dogs. Mrs Chen said Dan Dan’s original owner did not love her and he only treated her as a tool to make money. When the reporter asked what happened when the dog could not give birth anymore, Mrs Chen said the previous owner sold him. Mrs Chen wanted to buy a puppy but end up becoming an old dog made Mrs Chen became really mad. The shop was closed when she tried to visit the pet shop a month later, and it had changed into a bird park. Helpless Mrs Chen had no choice but decided to love Dan Dan more. Chihuahuas are minidogs, and their age won’t affect their look. If you don’t want to have a problem dog, please take the pet for examination after you buy it immediately.

Did you ever see a singing dog? Taichung famous physician Chen Weihua raises a Maltese named called ‘Sister’ which sings with Chen when he plays saxophone every day. Many patients reach his clinic and request to listen to Sister singing before seeing the doctor. The funny thing is that Sister will select songs to sing. If his friends play the instruments, Sister will not respond.

Chen Weihua is Taichung well-known internist. He suffered from cancer for three times and he wrote a book titled “doctor’s health magic weapon” teaching anti-cancer and anti-aging experience. However “sister” is more attractive than his book. The dog also knows how to stand with two legs and bow, and singing with the saxophone melody.

Chen said one year ago, he started learning saxophone. He had been practising at his house second floor, and four-month-old ‘Sister’ will sing together at the third floor. His family did not know what happened to the dog initially, thinking that the dog was weird as it cried at specific time everyday. Later they discovered that whenever there was music coming from downstairs, the dog would cry. If the music stopped, the dog started resting as well.

Chen Weihua will place ‘Sister’ beside him while he is practising. Chen Weihua said ‘sister’ will not randomly ‘shouting’. If it ‘shouts’, it will be barking sound. It will produce ‘woo woo woo’ sound when music starts.

However ‘Sister’ will not sing with all the music. Chen Weihua discovered this dog will choose songs. It preferred Japanese song, especially the song “Lover”, but when his friends start playing the instruments, ‘Sister’ did not respond at all.

Chen Weihua said there are quite a number of patients in his clinic, and they will normally request to listen to ‘Sister’ sing. He emphasized on spiritual therapy so he will do whatever his patients request. He feels happy when his patients showing a smile.

However, ‘Sister’ has been singing too much throughout the year. Chen Huawei worries that ‘Sister’ throat will be hurted, so he limits ‘Sister’ only sing two songs to patients daily. Patients who are late for the show are not angry with this. They think that if they can touch ‘Sister’ and see its cute look, they are happy enough.

Beijing had sent an initiative to all the hotels and restaurants in the city for suspension of dog meat dishes supply during Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Dog meat is not only popular in Beijing’s Korean restaurant, but often a popular dish in Yunnan and Guizhou restaurant.

Beijing Food Safety Office issued a document in June requesting all contracted Olympic Hotels not to sell any dog meat related dishes during Olympic Games. If there is dog meat in the ingredient of traditional medicine, it should be stated clearly.

This is to avoid discontent of animal rights organizations and Western tourists. This action is to respect the customs of different countries.

The document proposed all restaurants stop supplying dog meat during Olympic Games but it never mention the issue of donkey meat.

In 1988 Seoul Olympics, many criticisms from the West made Korean stop eating their favourite dish, dog meat, for a period of time.
