Four-year-old girl Shan Shan from Sisi kindergarten, Tam Village, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, was afraid to go to school for the last couple of days.  According to the parents, they suspected that the teacher, Miss Lan, pushed Shan Shan towards the wall and accidentally knocked off her front teeth simply because she refused to have an afternoon nap.  However the kindergarten refused to admit that accuse and said that the girl’s teeth dropped out by themselves.  The classmates testified for what the teacher did to Shan Shan and the police started the investigation.

Two boys were given special punishment by kindergarten teacher for eating during the afternoon nap.  Qi Jian-jun, father of one of the boy, revealed to the reporter that the teacher punished the students harshly by hitting their legs and also poked their wrists for up to 20 times with needle for only tiny mistake.

The boy, Qi Ding-wei, was only four-year-old.  He went to a kindergarten at Hsinchu.  One day, he told the father that he made a good friend and his friend gave him a lot of delicious food.  Qi Jian-jun was proud that his son made friend by his own.  Qi Ding-wei also brought some snacks from home to share with his friend at the kindergarten.  They ate the snacks during napping time and this brought them torturement from their teacher Zhang Chenxi.

Ding-wei told his father what happened in school when he got home.  This shocked the whole family.  According to Ding-wei, when the teacher discovered they were eating during the napping hour, the teacher asked them to do horse stance on two benches.  Their knee must be bent to half and if the gesture was not correct, the teacher will beat their legs with a stick.  Besides, their hand must be extended to the front when doing the stance.  If the hands had any sign of getting lower, the teacher will poke their wrists with a needle.  This torture was carried out for one whole afternoon.

Qi Jian-jun took the injury photo of his child to keep as evidence.  It can be seen clearly on the photo that there were more than 20 eyeholes on the wrist.  Qi Jian-jun said the family had counted the hole and there were 26 of them.  According to Ding-wei, his friend was poked more times than him by the teacher.

When the reporter went to the Hsinchu kindergarten to investigate the issue, the kindergarten director Su told the reporter that they didn’t know what had happen because none of the party had report to the school.  The kindergarten director and staffs went to Qi Jian-jun house to apologize twice and paid them eating fee with the valued of 1,000 Yuan as compensation.

Although Qi Jian-jun claimed that Ding-wei wrist was poked at least 26 times, teacher Zhang said that she only poked two times.  She said she did not know where other eyeholes come from.  Director Su said that kindergarten teacher was not allowed to do any physical punishment to the students.  The school had investigated the incident, but Zhang had not decided to quit the job.  It was later discovered that Zhang did not have any teaching qualification certificate.  Director Su said that kindergarten teachers must have teaching qualification certificate to teach in the school.

Qi Jian-jun already reported to the local police station to investigate the matter.
